Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is famous for her performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The film Piano earned her numerous awards which included an Oscar. The accomplished actress started her career in acting on the stage in various Broadway and Off Broadway productions. It has been an integral part of her love of life. In the fifth grade she was Helen Keller. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in the one ear, but she didn't let this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. The college she attended was drama, and then moved from Pittsburgh into New York City to follow her dream. In a chance encounter she was stuck in an elevator and met writer Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which became Hunter's debut. Following her move in Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure an acting role as a support on Swing Shift. In the three decades since then Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
